Spi(Cy-Fi)lms is a series of responsive and cross-disciplinary 4D works and discussions created by Cy-Fi (Caseena Karim). This series is an outstretched hand from Cy-Fi to create solidarity between NYC natives/ Queer and Trans People of Color (QTPOC) artists through 4D mediums, expansive cinema, and New Media through the lens of performance. Our first event was held at the BronxArtSpace as part of the exhibition “For Us.” The three videos created by Cy-Fi were screened alongside other QTPOC + NYC Native artists, followed by a discussion and live performances that were meant to highlight new media forms that work towards resistance.
